SPERRY GLACIER, GLACIER NATIONAL PARK, MONTANA

The glacier's surface area was 3.76 sq. km in 1850 and 0.87 sq. km in 1993, the date of the last precise survey. Below Sperry Glacier is glacier-scoured bedrock and melt water lakes formed as the ice receded in recent decades.
