BOOK AN EIS MULTMEDIA PRESENTATION

Through the arresting visual evidence of the Extreme Ice Survey, EIS Director James Balog unveils rapidly changing landscapes that only a handful of intrepid adventurers have ever seen in person. His presentations are colored by his experiences shooting for some of the world's most recognized publications, as well as his personal work on pioneering wildlife and nature photography projects. The result is a gripping program that stimulates the artistic sensibilities, spurs the exploratory yearnings and touches our sense of humanity.

Jim adds being a terrific storyteller. It’s an excellent combination for a great lecture.”

"I’ve always found Jim to be an original and bold thinker and communicator.
In his latest big project, he produced a multimedia lecture that, as I witnessed one afternoon,

Excerpt from Al Gore's Journal:

In 2006, James Balog and National Geographic, attempted to photograph the effects of global warming as they unfolded. The result is the "Extreme Ice Survey."

26 solar-powered cameras capture time-lapse images of glaciers in Greenland, Iceland, Alaska, the Alps, and the Rocky Mountains. Over the next two years the project will take more than 300,000 pictures. You can view these spectacular images by clicking here.

Letter from Anne Tucker, Museum of Fine Arts Houston:

Dear Jim,

It has been so long since we spoke. The interview yesterday with the woman writing an article on you gave me a chance to really look at your website on (the) ice project. Wow. The scope of the project is daunting and the photographs that you have made are so beautiful and engaging. Your long term commitment to the earth and its creatures is truly important.

Note from Marilyn Judah:

Dear Mr. Balog,

Thank you for who you are and for making this much needed documentary, "Extreme Ice". Your spirit and appreciation for the greatness of nature radiates through...your nerves of steel and courageous curiosity were at times more than this woman's stomach could manage. Congratulations for a job excellently done!; Hopefully your visionary voice will be seen and hear by this Administration and all peoples of the world while there is still a prayer we can possibly do something about it. A threat of fifty or a hundred years feels like tomorrow.

Thank you again on behalf of all those who will not think to write to you and the rest of humanity.

Sincerely, all the best,
Marilyn Judah
