LeWinter_Nepal_20100508_070208.jpg EIS, The North Face and Famed Mountaineer Conrad Anker team up to install cameras in the high Himalayas.

"This is not just some abstract indicator or climate change," says Balog. "The loss of high-altitude ice threatens the water supply for millions of people in Asia."

"Most of the time, art and science stare at each other across a gulf of mutual incomprehension.  Art, of course, looks at the world through the psyche, the emotions -- even the unconscious at times -- and of course the aesthetic. Science tends to look at the world through the rational, the quantitative -- things that can be measured and described -- but it gives art a terrific context for knowledge and understanding."  -James Balog
